Five Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) employees have earned MIC-IT Level 2 Certificates of Achievement after successfully completing customised welding training designed specifically around the repair and fabrication of bus components.

Delivered by the MIC Institute of Technology Limited (MIC-IT), the 50-hour programme provided practical training in welding safety, fabrication, inspection and techniques applicable to bus floor panels, chassis and side body panels.

Delivering remarks on behalf of Senator Professor Emeritus, the Honourable Prakash Persad, Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Hansen Narinesingh (MP), conveyed “That decision represents confidence in the capability of our national training institutions and demonstrates what can be achieved when Ministries, State enterprises and training institutions collaborate around a clearly identified workforce need.” Delivering the feature address was Senator the Honourable Eli Zakour, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation.

This MIC-IT–PTSC partnership demonstrates how targeted skills development can strengthen technical capacity, improve maintenance operations and ultimately support better public service delivery.
