Artificial Intelligence is fast becoming a bigger part of our daily lives and to keep up with the ever-changing world, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is putting mechanisms in place to prepare our citizenry to embrace its benefits. The Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training Division – On-the-Job Training Division welcomed the opportunity for the appointment of twenty-nine (29) On-the-Job Trainees, to the Ministry of Education – Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, to support the expansion of the national AI Textbook Development Programme.

On the 19th January,2026, The Ministry of Education hosted an orientation for the selected OJTs at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre, Couva. The session was also attended by Deputy Permanent Secretary, Dr. Wilson Henderson and other officials from The Ministry of Education, as well as officers from the MTEST On-the-Job Training Division.

The OJTs will operate under the supervision of the Ministry of Education in the development and support of AI-powered educational technology solutions across a variety of subject areas.

The MTEST-OJTD remains committed to building the technical capacity of the workforce as we continue to support the invaluable human resources of our country.
